Introduction: The purpose of this study was the relationship between sexual attitude and marital satisfaction with the mediation of emotional inhibition among married women in Tehran.Methods: The research method was descriptive correlation type. The research population included all married women in Tehran, 316 of whom were selected by simple random sampling. To collect data, from the short form of the sexual attitude scale (Hudstone et al., 1983), the short form of the marital satisfaction scale (Bloom and Mehrabian, 2006) and the multidimensional experimental avoidance questionnaire (Games et al., 2011) and to analyze and Data analysis, descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis were used.Results: Sexual attitude had no significant direct or indirect effect on marital satisfaction. Therefore, in order to modify the model, in addition to using the model modification index, it was also used to remove the path that was not significant. Finally, after modifying the model, sexual attitude had a significant indirect effect on marital satisfaction with the mediation of emotional inhibition with an effect size of -0.06 (P<0.05).Conclusion: The results of this study showed that changes in the sexual attitude of married women in Tehran cannot lead to significant changes in their marital satisfaction. Also, people who have a positive and healthy sexual attitude may be able to choose the best approaches in managing and interacting with their feelings and emotions.
